COVENANT + FACEBOOK = COOL

That's right, Covenant is now officially cool, hip, and socially networked. Check out our new Facebook page:

If you have a Facebook account (who in this world doesn't besides Pastor Ben?) add yourself as a fan of the page, and suggest the page to ALL your friends. If you don't have a FB account (ahem, Pastor Ben) then come on and sign up.

This should be a good way for us to keep up with each other throughout the week, keep track of events, drive traffic here to our blog, and just have fun. And if anybody has any good pictures let me know. Also any suggestions or comments, please don't hesitate to bring it up :)

Welcome to Covenant Community Church. The word "covenant" captures the vision of our church. Through the Covenant of Grace, we have been redeemed as God's own possession. In Christ, we are now His people and the Lord is our God. For this reason, we worship Him. We desire to be a community of true worshippers in spirit and truth. In His presence, worship gives us the assurance of God's covenantal promise: "I will be your God and you will be my people." This is the heart of the covenant. That is why we invite you to join us. So if you are weak and seek rest, and if you need grace and God's assurance, please come join us in our worship.

Covenant Community Church is a new church plant in the San Fernando Valley area, with the purpose to preach the Gospel of Christ to bring glory and honor to God. Our mission is to establish a faithful local church with emphasis on family by reaching young professionals as well as families.

We know that there are many churches out there. And making a decision on which church to attend can be both overwhelming and exhausting. But it's the most important decision you can make for you and your family. So we ask that you spend much time in prayer and in His word. And if time permits, please get to know us as well. We hope and pray that many questions can be answered by this blog, but if you want more answers, please visit our website at www.covenantworship.net, or contact us and we'll be glad to help you.

So come and see what the Lord is doing in our church on Sunday. And if the Lord wills, we hope to have you join our family.

Fellowship

"And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2:42)

One of the greatest priviliges of being a Christian is to enter into the church's fellowship. The word fellowship means to "share one another's burden." We as the members of God's family admonish and build one another up. At Covenant Community Church, we consider fellowship to be of utmost importance. Please browse through this blog or our website at www.covenantworship.net to find out the news and updates, prayer requests and mostly importantly, the ways you can get involved in our church.

Beliefs

Both qahal (OT) and ekklesis (NT) define church as "the gathering of God's people." By definition, we learn two things: First, the church is an organism, not organization. Second, the church consists of all those who are truly saved through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This complete gathering of God's people is what we call "the invisible church." For it consists of every believer from every age and every land. This "invisible church" is, however, manifested visibly through a gathering of a local church. For this reason, a local church is both confessional and connectional: "One body and one Spirit...one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God." (Eph 4:4-6). Thus, this is our confession and our faith in Jesus Christ.
